We welcome completed manuscripts with strong storytelling, compelling characters, original voices, and emotional or intellectual impact.
What to Submit
For the initial review, please send:
- Your legal or real name, plus the pen name you intend to publish under if you use one
- A query letter introducing your book
- A one-page synopsis that includes the ending
- The first three chapters or up to 10,000 words
- The genre and total word count
- A brief author biography
Please submit completed manuscripts only.
Do not send the full manuscript at this stage. If your sample appears to be a good fit for Raines Publishing, we will contact you and request the complete manuscript.
How the Process Works

We review your sample for quality, fit, and publishing potential.
- Conversation
If the project may be a fit, we will contact you and request the full manuscript.
- Publishing
Selected manuscripts may move into further discussion and the publishing process.
A submission is a beginning, not a guarantee.
Not every manuscript will be accepted. Submitting materials does not create a publishing agreement, and original materials remain the author’s property unless a separate written agreement is signed.
